That is an interesting question. Some people consciously deny the existence of God but appear to make many such Freudian slips; as if there is a deep seated awareness of the Supreme Being. True belief must be much more than a superficial denial or affirmation from the ego self.

Well that would all depend on what kind of Atheist she is. Now I'm an Atheist but I was baptized a Pentecostal Holiness when I was five years old so I'm a Christin Atheist and I might very well believe in Hell but of course I have been saved myself so I am safe. All you sinful Christians who are not baptized will surely burn in Hell so you had better go and get yourself saved. God bless kisses Betty.

Why are you so blind to what an atheist is?! ATHEIST - somebody who would not have self assurance in a God – any God – no longer in basic terms the Christian one. yet that would not recommend they do no longer carry stable ethical or non secular ideals! they are in a position to stick to any faith that would not have a god and there are various those! Like BUDDHISM – non secular coaching from Buddha and his followers that via destroying greed, hatred and myth (the reason for all suffering) guy can attain desirable enlightenment! the place do you think of christianity have been given it rather is concepts of a soul and afterlife from for goodness sake? They stole it from the pagan tribes and peoples which existed hundreds and hundreds of years till now christianity! From the stone age via vikings, Egyptians, Maoris, Aborigines, American Indians and incredibly the chinese language, all of them had intricate funerals and grave products to velocity the soul into the subsequent existence with convenience!

No, an Atheist wouldn't believe in hell. And Agnostic might, but not an Atheist. I'm sure she was using it as an expression.

They may not believe in the place itself, more the idea of it. The word Hell has been etched into most peoples minds from childhood. It represents the evil, hatred and gruesome of our planet. Its more of an expression of 'I dont like them' then it is an actual place that most atheists believe in.

to an answer above - you do not know atheists will go to hell. the mercy of God is unlimited and he can read their hearts. I am a Catholic but nevertheless you can't judge as a human being who and who will not go to hell. I understand agnostics but never will understand atheists.

well, there's all kinds of concepts of hell, i suppose. if a light bulb ever went on in GW's brain (such as it is) and he ever really clued into and felt guilt for the horrific damage he has done to the lives of 100 of thousands of people the pain of his remorse would surely be hellish.
