"A conservative group that had called on supporters to boycott Wal-Mart’s post-Thanksgiving day sales to protest the retailer’s support of gay-rights groups withdrew its objections Tuesday, saying the company had agreed to stay away from controversial causes". How can Christians believe the teachings of Christ who said "Love one Another" and then bully someone else into doing what they want, which is to persecute people who don't agree with them.

I'm not saying it's ok or not ok to be gay - but where in the New Testiment does it say that its ok to persecute someone who doesen't believe like you do.

By the way, for those of you who don't believe a boycot is persecution... Ask the Wal-Mart employees who get their hours cut because of people boycotting their store. The average employee just wants a paycheck so he can make his or her's familie's Christmas a little nicer..

I agree woith you 100%. While I do not agree with the "gay agenda", I have no business as a Christian persecuting those who differ from me with blackmail, or by denouncing a business to all other Christians. Let God do the judging. What if everyone decided to blackball me because of some sin in my life?
Do unto others...
It's the same thing as Christians voting in a block against some politician because he believes in gay rights. If we are not even interested to know how that politician feels about taking care of the poor and helpless, about social justice.... It seems we have a limited political agenda. (When I say "we", I am referring to some Christians - the vocal ones that get mentionedd in the media. There are many who do not go along with this stuff).

I think you missed the point!!

There was NOTHING against gays. It was just the fact that Walmart was going to make a big deal over gays. In other words rubbing their life style in the face of the OTHER 90% of their customers. Their life style is also against Christian belief AND the Bible.

Do you see Walmart going out of it's way to support anybody else???? Do they have a HETERO-SEXUAL day??? Do they have a BLACK People day? Do they have a WHITE people day? Do they have a CHRISTIAN day? Do they have a HUNTER"S day? Do they have a MEXICAN day? Do they have a WOMAN"S day? Do they have a Man's day?

How about IF they had a radical MUSLIM day? Would you like that? Maybe push to sell shotguns and rifles???

NO, they best stay neutral when it comes to people.

They are beginning to enter into the downfall that most companies and even just rich people do and that is to feel like they can do ANYTHING they want because they have more money than ANY or ALL of the Waltons could EVER spend.

Good luck. Pops

You have got your entire story wrong..........the fact is the christians did not think it was right for walmart to donate 60,000 to the gay rights movement instead of to our own hungry children.Most people both christians and non christians believe it is wrong for a big store like Wal-mart supporting any gay rights,white superments,Kkk movement,ot any other orgnasation whatsoever..........None of these movements including the gay rights should be recieving donations from walmart...If walmart wants to do something good they could have donated that money to help the hungry,or clothe the poor...walmart needs to stay out of politics,cause it offends people,and im sorry that walmarts employees have lost time ,but they need to blame walmart for their lack of tactic,s............the head person in charge was gay,so he decided he would donate to his cause....Walmart got their own tail in a sling...............

Why would you expect us to spend our money for a company whose going to turn around and give it to a "cause" we feel to be imoral?

Once again, we are being accused of hating because we stick to our morals. I don't shove them down anyone's throat, and I don't HATE anyone. But, I won't be bullied into accepting something I know to be wrong because it's politically correct.

The Bible tells us to be good stewards of our money. Knowingly spending it where it will be used for this type of thing is not being a good steward. It has nothing to do with hate. I can love a person without loving their sin and without supporting it.

You have a poor idea of persecution. Since when is a boycott persecution. It is up to Christians to stand up for what is right. Nobody else will.

what i find horrible is that these people were mad about wal mart being supportive of gay rights (which surprises me), but not the fact that wal mart brands use sweatshops or that their employees can't afford health insurance. wal mart actually tells their employees to go get welfare.
to these people:
gay=bad
welfare=good

I wouldn't protest. Gays were given free will to to what they want. Let them buy their things from Wal-Mart if they choose to do so.

if i were to answer this question with how i really felt my account would be deleted.

but let me say that i agree that it was blackmail. and i think that walmart should have stood up to them. how many people really listen to Pat Robertson anymore anyway. the American Family Association and mr. Robertson have been very loud for many years. can anyone name a company that they directaly put out of business?

this country was founded on one thing above all others.

the inalienable human rights
LIFE< LIBERTY>and the PERSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

it was not founded to be a christian theocracy.

Let me see if I've got this straight: if I'm pro-gay or at least neutral, then I HAVE to shop at Wal-Mart?

They are just trying to be the squeaky wheel that gets to control the masses like usual. Mislead.
