Interesting isn't it. Clearly there is some force in the Universe that powers the whole existence (it seems to me) but we as people create religions and give shape to "god". We always seem to put it in terms of a person - but that can hardly be the case, right?

Peace!

The God force of the Universe did not create religion. religion was created by man to control the masses.

If religion created God then there is no God other than in the minds of believers because we can't create an omnipotent being simply by believing in one.

If God exists, then the existence or absence of religion doesn't change that.

Kinda like that question about whether a tree falling in a forest makes a sound if there's no one around the hear it fall. If it falls, it makes a sound, even if no one hears it. If it doesn't fall, it doesn't make a sound even if all the world believes it does.

God was there all the time. Man created religion. God just sent some one down to fine tune it a little.

Given that so many peoples of various cultures throughout history (and pre-history) have shown evidence of religion, it is likely that the human brain developed some kind of awareness of a supreme, higher power; would it not make sense that God wanted there to be creatures with minds capable of recognising Him? I think that is why there is religion: God gave humans the ability to somehow detect Him, or some semblance of a higher power, via a highly-developed brain. Especially in terms of morals: right and wrong; doing things that are for something greater than oneself, even in the face of danger or self-harm: what a unique development of the brain. If there is a "God part" of the brain, then it is there because God wanted it that way (otherwise, how would such a part of the brain be a beneficial feature?) to help humans find Him. And because we are not robots, we can choose to ignore this "God part" of the brain, or to accept what it tells us (just like you can close your eyes to try to ignore something, or open your eyes and accept its presence).

God didn't create religion. He created man, and man created religion.

Romans 1:19-20
19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

God put a want into peoples heart

Nether, God doesn't want religion he wants a personal relationship with us. Religion is mans way of trying to get to God.
Relationship is God's way of reaching us through Jesus Christ.
