I have seen this question about 10 times in the last week and I still don't see the logic behind it.
Somehow this is supposed to indicate that if a Christian saves for retirement, then it is not displaying faith. That is ludicrous.
First of all, the bible CLEARLY states that NO ONE knows when Jesus will return, so all the "Christ return" predictions are completely unscriptural.
What we can do is look at the signs and have an idea of the timeframe we live in. According to scripture, we very well could be living in the last days. Many prophesies are being fulfilled before our eyes.
The problem is that we don't have the future to compare our present to. So, we don't know with how much severity the prophecies were meant to describe the events.
For example, the bible says that in the last days children will rise up and slay thier parents. We see that happening more and more, but how commonplace does it need to be in order to fulfill scripture? No one can say with any certainty.
Many other things like that were predicted like the arrogance of man, the illnesses, the natural disasters and wars, etc.
Someone 2,000 years ago, seeing our world today would wonder why Jesus hasn't returned yet.
This is why the bible says to always be ready for Christ's return. If He doesn't return in my lifetime, then my personal judgment day will be upon me in the next 50 years anyway.
So, it is wise to prepare for both scenarios. And if Christ does return, then my family members who will be left behind will have my money to help them during the tribulation. I'm prepared either way. Are you?

You never know when your last day will come. Yours or the entire worlds. If there is a schychic out there he might be right. Astrology people also might have a clue. But i have not heard of people closing retirement funds or stop having children. I believe that one day the earth will end. But compared to the evolution of the earth and how long things take to happen large and small i would say your safe to have children and continue having children. I believe that not in my lifetime or my children's would a catastrophe like they might predict actually happen.

I've stopped having more children. Two is enough for me. I know that I am in the last days. Today's sale ads tell me that I have only three more days on the dress sock extravaganza of the century sale. I plan on doing my final sales shopping today while there are no crowds at the mall, and I will be able to select and buy at my leisure. The only negative is that the clerks have all that dead time on their hands, and all they want to do is banter with the solitary customer. Yes, Virginia, we are in the final days. Do your shopping now before all sales are final. Don't worry about retirement. Cash out your 401 K and shop till you drop. Have a rapturous time doing it.

My children are the only things I can take to heaven with me. They don't stay here after the world ends. They have souls and they will be with me forever.
As for money, no I don't save for retirement. I'm living the life I want to live every day. I have some money saved in case of a hardship but not retirement.

People talked about the last days since the first millennium, and now we are already in the third one. Many countries and many civilizations have been lost, so the earth have been ended many times. It ends with some people and begins with others. There had been no interpretions of ending as the complete exlplosion of the earth.
Christ at His return had taught clearly the meaning of the last days. Please seek for Him and His guidance.

I feel we are in the last days, but ask yourself this question.. what kind of time frame are we using. one set by God or one set by man. (tick tock) Just because we could be taken to heaven or hell "anytime" doesn't mean that we should stop what we are doing. We still have to function as we always have and when the time comes we will be ready---either for retirement on earth or, God willing, in heaven

They can stop saving for their retirement. And since the end is so close, they can also stop paying their mortgages. It takes a good three months for the banks to began the process of foreclosure.

He will come as a thief in the night. No-one knows the date or time. Better save that money for retirement.

You are funny! Convinced does not include stopping. After all, who knows the exact last day? Not even Prophet Muhammad saw.

There seem to be people like this. I remember that someone offered to give away all their worldly possessions if the world didn't end in 1999. My little brother met one in 2001. I never bothered to collect because that would be taking advantage of people who aren't as smart as you, and neither did my brother.
