Is she having diarriah? This can cause that nasty rash. Keep using the ointment. If there is diarriah once that clears up the diaper rash will leave also.

Try putting some epsom salt into a lukewarm bath, then having her sit in it for maybe 20 minutes. After you take her out, make sure she's completely dry. Then, apply either Nivea Cream (it's the one that's in a blue plastic jar) or a very thick diaper rash cream( I tried them all, and the generic Equate brand from Wal-mart worked the best. It was very thick, so it kept the skin protected and nothing could get through to irritate). Then, you might put a little bit of baby powder on her as well. If you can get her to drink mostly water for a couple of days, that should help too.

This one really works: Use A&D combined with an antibiotic topical ointment (from the drugstore-doesn't have to be special). Mix the two on your daughters bottom and apply both liberally. I mean a lot of it! And then put her in a cloth diaper, or a different diaper brand than you are using. If she's potty trained than ignore the diaper part. I tell you, it works. My son had a horrible, horrible rash (he ended up being allergic to the particular brand of diapers we were using at the time). I did this for a couple days and it was gone. The combo of anitbiotic and a&d is miraculous. A friend of a friend of a friend had passed this secret down to me.

Keep the diaper off of her for awhile . I used to let my daughter sleep without a diaper sometimes when she had diaper rash. Also the type of diaper you use might be irritating it. I know that I could only use LUVS or Pamers on my daughter because Huggies and any other brand made her bottom break out really bad, it was the chemical reaction between her urine and the chemicals in the diapers (that gel stuff that holds in the moisture)

My son had the same thing when he was an infant the skin doctor put him on this three cream treatment and told me to leave his diaper off as much as possible so the air will heal it and it cleared up after a couple weeks with this treatment and when you clean her bottom use baby oil which helps remove some of the ointments easier and less painfully. Good Luck

Have u tried Corona?? (not the beer) Ask the pharmacist for it, it is used for cow udders and such. I work in childcare and MANY parents use it. It should have it cleared up in a couple of days if it is a diaper rash. It is fairly cheap, like $10 for a tube of it that should last well until she is out of diapers and then some!

Have you tried leaving her diaperless for periods throughout the day? My daughter's that type too, the kind that gets diaper rashes like thet're in style, lol. Sometimes, no matter what people say, some kids are just more sensitive than others. Air works wonders.

If the rash is spreading up her body it may not be a diaper rash. My son had one that started at his bottom and got higher and it turned out to be a strep infection (also known as scarlett fever).
I would advice a bath in aveno (it's like oatmeal) it really helps with rashes and other skin issues.. it's very soothing.

Has your ped. considered it may not be a diaper rash & be a yeast infection my nephew had one that was overlooked by his doctor & eventually left a rash up his belly & back
Also, with my children when they had bad diaper rashes I put them in cloth diapers for a few days, I can be a pain if you are a disponable mommy. But it really helps, just don't use the plastic covers.

Do you use baby wipes? She could be allergic to them. Be careful of whatever chemicals you use... baby wipes, detergents, soap, creams, even the diapers themselves if they have some kind of anti-order/fragnance to them might cause the rash. Try to use all natural gentle things and see if that helps. Clothing softeners also can cause rashes, but if it's in the diaper, then it might not be that. Maybe an old-fashioned cloth diaper might help.
