The reason that Jesus chose his first twelve disciples was to carry on his message after he was gone. When He rose from the dead, he proved that he was God and had the power over life and death. Before he ascended back up to heaven to be with his father. He left these final instructions with his followers:
Mat 28 18-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
The mission for the disciples was now world wide. Jesus is Lord of the earth, and he died for the sins of people from all nations.
We are to go and to make disciples. It is not an option, but a command to all who call Jesus "Lord".

Christianity hadn't really started when he died. It only began when he came back to life. Or to be more accurate, it started a few decades later when some people wrote a book that said he came back to life. Basically the point is that his death is a key element of Christianity.

Because He rose from the dead. If He had not, there would be no Christianity. It was after His resurrection and showing Himself to His apostles and others that it took off. See the book of Acts.

It didn't die because of the conversions done by the apostles and saul of tarsus (paul). Plus, the roman emperors who made it mandatory in the roman empire was a big plus.

It wasn't meant to die. Jesus is not dead. He sits in heaven at the right hand of the Father right now.

I guess you really are and idiot just because Jesus died for people like me who believe it doesn't mean that people will stop believeing it. In my opinion it's stupid not to believe things that are so important like the fact that Jesus died to save me and all believers . But we don't doubt it because we trust the things like the ible. so if you don't believeit thats fine it's your choice.

Because of his message. It was so powerful and moving that it transcended everything else.
You are thinking of him as...a cult leader.
