I need to be chewing 'n eating ice all the time, I actually enjoy it more then drinking water. I'm always craving it, BUT NOW MORE THEN EVER!!!. I usually eat a case of ice cubes per day, and when i go to restaurants i need to fill the cups with ice 'n not soda...I don't know if it's only "somthing" that i like...or if it has to do with my health or body...

I am so completely the same!!!!! I LOVE to chew ice. I've googled this, and there are websites and chats about people that love to do this. SOme people say that if you have low iron you crave ice, but I don't buy that. I have a friend that loves ice, too. She blends it in her food processor until it's like snow.

Normal? I don't know. But ALOT of people do it. Google 'chewing ice'.

I think our bodies crave things that they are lacking in. I would say that you are actually craving the water and are perhaps are a little dehydrated, but it's just that you prefer to take it in ice form. Are you drinking enough i.e. 8 glasses of water a day?

I went through a stage of craving ice. I still eat it all the time but I don't always crave it. I go through times of craving it. I am not sure why though.

This isn't normal in the definition of normality and there have actually been some studies that show a correlation between craving ice and having low calcium levels. You need to check your calcium levels.

Not normal. It is a symptom of anemia. Easily managed by taking iron pills, but you need to get checked by a doctor because self treating can cause more problems.

You are also damaging the enamel on your teeth, which will cause sensitivity to cold and hot food and liquids in the future.

I believe it's a sign of iron deficiency anemia. I don't know why that would make you crave ice, but something about the crunching. Maybe you need some iron...

Craving ice is a sign of anemia so call your doc and ask to have your levels checked unless you had blood tests done at your yearly physical this year

You should talk with your Dr. about this.. I too crave sweets & drink way to much pop. The first step is to no your hang ups .. So you can take control. Or maybe med. If Dr. thinks you are lacking something. GOOD luck
