last time you had a trim? trims every 8-10 weeks in orer to keep healthy growing hair. Remember that. Now a trim is 1/8 so for every 8 weeks you missed start adding, this is what you will need to cut off. Also when you tie back wet hair you stress the hair, this will cause breakage its normal. Hair should always be dry before placing in pony tails or going into the cold outside. You shouldn't stress the hair so. use good shampoo and conditioner watch the PH levels, no alcohol, be careful of products based with tons of water, and also, we want to avoid sulfates and high amounts of panthenols. Ask a professional to help you with a good shampoo and conditioner in your area, yes it costs a few dollars more but you will use less there for spreading the product life out longer. End result, better healthier shinier hair and same cost at end of year to achive it.

Wear it down for 2 weeks straight and brush it out before it dries...I had the same problem and thats the only way that the flyaways stopped. Also, It's a little more expensive than the shampoo I usually use but Aussie Shamp and Cond. worked really well. It's only like 3$ a bottle but I'm used to really cheap stuff. It does help.

Do minimal things to your hair while it is wet..especially do not brush it!!! Use a wide tooth comb to detanlge and let it dry naturally. Buy more gentle ties...ones that have no metal or joins and use a thicker elastic that normal, even a scrunchie. Hair that is wet will break under pressure, so be gentle.

Oh and once hair is damaged, it is damaged. It is dead, you really cannot repair hair, only protect it.
