I just spoke to our pediatrician about this last week. My 5 year old was wetting his bed almost nightly. His doctor said that it's normal unless it goes past age 8. There are many causes, such as having too much to drink to close to bed time, Their bladders not sending the signal that it's full, or just being overly tired or a very sound sleeper. He gave me suggestions. No drinks after 7 or at least an hour and a half before bed time. Having my son go to the bathroom more often. Share the responsibility of changing his wet clothes and the bedding. Check with your doctor. There are alot more courses of action he can print out for you.

I wet the bed until I was about 12. My dad tried many of the same things to get me to stop, waking up at night, no drinks, also used a beeper that clipped onto my underwear that would beep when wet, and "goodnights" diapers.. it was extremely embarrassing to me, but I didn't know how to stop it. He would also tell my friend's parents if I was spending the night somewhere, which made it even more embarrassing. Went to the doctor about it when I was 12 and he gave me some medication to take (was supposed to stretch my bladder and make me wake up easier). I'm not sure if that's what fixed it, but I stopped wetting soon after. I still had the occasional (rare) accident for the next couple years but eventually it stopped completely. I had a lot of problems at home so not sure if that's why it continued for so long, or what... Sorry, this probably doesn't help much but thought I'd share anyways. Don't worry, it will eventually stop!

Don't be worried. If this was happening a few times a week, I would bring your son to the doctor. Try to withhold liquids 2 hours prior to his bedtime and like you said, make him go before bed.
Bedwetting can last for a while. I've known a kid who at 11 occasionally wet the bed. I don't think you have anything to worry about though.

first of all do not scold your child for it is not his fault that he wets the bed. Most bed wetters stop before they reach the age of 7 but if continues to wet his bed after his 7th birthday consult his doctor and gets some tests done to find out why he still wetting the bed. It may be a sign of a delayed maturation of the central nevrous system that controls the bladder, or maybe he may have a uninary tract infection

Could not be more normal. My son wet occasionally until age 10 or 11. Boys are much slower with this for some reason. My son's got worse when he was put on some medication that made him sleep more soundly. If your son doesn't have any discomfort or other symptom associated with it, I would do nothing about it other than assure him it's completely normal and that it will stop eventually.

It's very normal. Especially boys, their bladders are the last thing to really grow, and they sleep so soundly the signal just doesn't wake them up. There really isn't any age for it to stop, but they usually do by the time they are about 7-8. His bladder has to catch up with his output capacity, and his brain has to recognize the signal to wake up and go. I put one of those mattress guards on my kids' beds, the ones that are cloth on the outside and rubber inside, and I never make a big deal of it, I just change out the bottom sheet and know it's not an intentional thing, it's just part of it.

It's normal. My son is 5 and still wets occasionally. I know when I was a kid I wet the bed on occasion until 7 (embarassing!)
They usually grow out of it but if you are concerned you should see your child's doctor, it could be an issue with his sleeping patterns or even related to tonsilitis (weird but true)

Yes it's normal especially in boys. Call your pediatrician and get specific answers as to things you can do, but he's still developing his muscle control, and he may have the occassional accident. Limit liquids after 6 or 7:00 depending on when he goes to bed. He may have had a bad dream or gotten scared which caused the accident. Please don't worry. He'll be fine. :)

Its a known fact that little guys have a harder time with bladder control than do little girls. I would start restricting his fluid intake 3 hours before bedtime and see if that doesn't help . If that does not do the trick then I would seek out a doctors advice-to be safe if nothing else.

Sure, it's normal. Especially since he does it so seldom. If it gets more frequent or doesn't stop by the time he's 7 I would see his doctor just to be on the safe side.
