geez, i'm so sorry this has happened to you. i think you need to go back to the shop asap and talk with the "artist" and the shop owner. the owner needs to take some kind of responsiblity for the other ppl who are working in their shop...the owner is most likely the master artist there, hopefully, and perhaps he/she can re-ink you and touch up the tattoo. i def. would not have the original person work on me again...he might hammer you (go deep with the needles). and since he screwed it up to begin with, how the heck will he be able to fix it...might just go from bad to worse. they will advise you to wait til the tat heals completely before doing anymore work on it. if they don't want to fix it, they should refund all of your money.
i have 11 tattoos. only 1 was done badly...she hammered me for 4 hours with a needle bar that had burrs on it or maybe was slightly bent. talk about painful. it was my 3rd tattoo, and i thought it hurt so badly due to it being on my upper back, so i just bit the bullet and didn't say anything...it's 10" long by 6" wide, and is beautiful except that it built up scar tissue under it causing it to be raised up...looks 3D. a lot of ppl ask me how they can get a tat like that. lol. scarification with ink. that can also happen if you're sensitive to the ink or pigments used...usually reds i've been told.
i've had 2 tats done by guys who've tried to make me squirm and cry, but couldn't, even though they hammered the hell outta me for an hour. i don't know what that's all about...maybe because i'm so much taller then they are? lol. i don't know, but even other customers commented that the guy(s) were intentionally being rough.
anyway, very best of luck with this...somebody will be able to correct it for you.

Go back to who did it and show him your concerns and ask him what he can do to fix it. If he's not the owner/manager of the business, talk to them as well. If you don't trust him to put the needle to you anymore, try to get your money back and seek the services of another tattoo artist. I wouldn't wait, only because you want them to see how bad it is and they can't blame it on your scratching or something. You MAY have to wait for it to heal, most likely will, but at least they will see it while fresh.

Girls do like that. The fact that you care so much for your son shows that you are a good man and-be scared- would be a good future father to children they may have with you. I think it's great that your son comes first, but please don't introduce your son to the women in your life until you are certain that they will be a long term thing. It can really damage a kid to form attachments to women who come in and out of your life...good luck!

you should not go to the same person that butchered your tattoo in the first place. you should research someone who is an actual artist and go to someone who is great at lettering. was this the first time this person had tattooed you? it's very risky to get such a prominent tattoo by someone if you don't completely trust them. good luck.

Dont go back to that same guy!!! A lot of good artists can do a cover up tat..Just be careful in choosing your next artist. If worse comes to worse you can get it lasered off. Call a good tat parlor and ask them what they think you should do.

Act act ACT!!!!!! If you think it needs to be removed first and done over, remove it NOW! Not in two days- NOW!
If you think it can be fixed by him just evening out the letters a bit, call the place and ask their advice.
P.S. You're a great mom to love your son enough to get his name tatooed to your body. Too many moms don't even care enough about their kids to even pay attention to them.
