1. Learn to speak French fluently.
2. Get a Ph.D. in some esoteric subject.
3. Save lots of money which you can invest in Canada.
4. Marry a Canadian.
5. Become a US citizen and get professional qualifications that meet NAFTA eligibility requirements. (Not "permanent resident" status but just as good, really).

well, first of all, in order to survive canada, you will need a new first name. they will ask you for your name in the border check. Tell them Herman and it will go a ton faster. next, bring lots and lots of long underwear, long shirts and long pants. it gets into the -20's about 3 months of the year. also, check out the following source
