Yes. One of the snipers from the Princess Patricia Light Infantry Regiment had set a record for long distance shooting in Afghanistan last year (3,000 yards).

How's that for real military?

Yes we do. But not as in the glory days of WW II era. Canada DID possess the military prowess and political power to make or break conflicts around the world (i.e Suez canal crisis etc) but not anymore.

Now the Canadian military is largely ceremonial with aging Vietnam era helicopters and Soviet era British subs. Who needs a Canadian military anyways with Washington DC so close by? America will defend Canada to the bone (not because they LOVE Canada THAT much but because the US wouldn't want any other military gaining a foothold next door)

Watch out for the Maple Syrup Maginot line! Just joking, as answered above, the Canadian has a adept Military whose prowess is to be fear among industralized nations. I think Canada should be proud not to have spent more than a trillion dollars in the last couple of years in the armed forces, (like the idiot global police America)

its all three. Marines are a branch of the Navy. Canada just has a weaker military compared to the United States. Canada has a military, its just kinda small. and saving their force until they are attacked.

We have all of the above (except marines), and for the record the Mounties are police not military. Our military is currently in Afghanistan serving in a war zone. Our country has a habit of minding their business and tending to our own problems, so you never hear of us being world bully and dominator like our southern neighbours.
