u tell her straight up from the start. don't lead her on believe me there r alot of women and men that can get the wrong idea just by being a friend to them,so the best thing is to tell her that it is not a date

I am not sure of your motive. If it is game-playing, then my answer is that you are being mean and should consider what comes around, goes around. But if you meant that you want to see someone as a friend and not give her the wrong impression, tell her. Say it nicely, warmly, and matter-of-fact. "Hi, I'd like to catch a movie with you sometime. Just as friends. Would you want to go?"

If its a date why would you make her think otherwise? If you could make your meeting like its coincident, then maybe it wouldnt look like its a date... This is confusing...

bring lots of mutual friends... that way its a "group" date and if things start to head south then you can just all start hanging out... especially if her close friends are with her, that way if things start to get weird she doesnt feel trapped but she feels she has a way to retreat if needed
