I am all for abstinence.

This is how I feel about it ...

You should stay a virgin till you're married.
God intended it to be that way.
But many, MANY people abuse that.
And God looks down on those people.

You don't just give your virginity to just anybody.
It is the best present you can give your future husband.
It is you... it is all of you.

If you become pregnant, you can handle it better when you're married.
You'll have that person beside you who promised to always be by your side.
It won't be some random guy or some guy who you THOUGHT loved you.

Sex makes many things complicated in an unmarried relationship.
It takes two very mature people.
You do not want to get yourself lost in everything that comes with sex.
Most people nowadays tend to just BASE their relationship on sex.

I am a virgin myself. I have a boyfriend of more than 9 months that I am completely in love with. We talk about marriage and how I want to wait till our wedding day to have sex. He truly does love me... he respects me. That's when you KNOW you have a great guy. That's when you KNOW he's in love with you... when he has absolutely no problem in waiting. Actions speak louder than words...

I'm all for it. Why sleep around with people, risk getting pregnant, and getting an STD or STDS? Why risk getting your heart torn and ripped? Too many relationships become all about sex... I seek a relationship that is a bond between personalities... not based on sex... because, let's face it, someday sex really isn't going to be possible... old age won't permit it, and well, you're going to have to get along with the person.... you need more than just sex.... Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to have sex, I just want to make it extra special with the man that I marry. To me, sex is a bonding of souls, so i believe that when you sleep with someone your soul is binding to that person, and then when you leave that relationship, a part of you is gone... so it's like you'll be going into every other relationship incomplete.. I want to be clean, pure and complete when I come into the relationship with the person I am to marry. I think it's a beautiful thing to marry a virgin, especially in our sex saturated world

abstinence is just abstaining from anything
so i hope this helps:
"Abstinence is a voluntary forbearance from indulging a desire or appetite for certain bodily activities that are widely experienced as giving pleasure. Most frequently, the term refers to abstention from sexual intercourse, alcohol or food. The practice can arise from religious prohibitions or practical considerations."

It's good in principle and things would be a lot better for many people if it was practiced. But in the day and age that we live in now, its not practical to try and shove it down people's throats (if they are not receptive to it.).
