i believe there is a heaven and a hell. actually Paul says there are 3 heavens and DAvid says there are 7 hells. the mormons say there are 9 degrees of 3 heavens.
of course Dante says there are 9 circles of hell, so in part there are some agreement between the balance of heaven being 9 degrees and hell being 9 circles.
However. from the testimonies of people that have died violently there are endless judgements and degrees of those that have visited hell and seen spirit prisons as described in the book of Peter 3 ch.
when we die, there is an automatic short term judgment where spirit people go. some go immediately to hell while others see visions of the New Jerusalem or the throne of God. but these are only temporary because Jesus promised us that if we were EVEN in Hell we could call upon his name and be returned to life.
while in the old testament it is clearly written that death brings nothing but oblivian and darkness or the absence of intelligent existence. the jehova witnesses are the majority of that interpretation.
Personally i believe those that are born again have life in a heavenly state of existence and are either rewarded with rest and peace, or they are called to serve as angels according to level of attainment of repentance and faith in this world.
Exlatation is a promise found in the scriptures but only after being justified and becoming sanctified.

There are 3 places you go when you die.
1. Back to earth - this is what happens to most cases because we are from God and we come here and when we are not God like we have to come again and again I am in my 22 birth
2. If you are a very good person and spiritual then you can go to Heaven - To merge into the lord
3. If you have been rotten like into prostitution murder and equivalents then you go to hell. No females there. Yes females of the animal kind galore. You go to the animal kingdom

The question of what happens after death can be confusing. The Bible is not explicitly clear on when a person will reach their final eternal destiny. The Bible tells us that after the moment of death, a person is taken to Heaven or Hell based on whether he or she had received Christ as his or her Savior. For believers, after death is to be "away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). For unbelievers, after death means everlasting punishment in Hell (Luke 16:22-23).
This is where it can get confusing as to what happens after death. Revelation 20:11-15 describes all those in Hell being cast into the lake of fire. Revelation chapters 21-22 describe a New Heaven and New Earth. Therefore, it seems that until the final resurrection, after death a person resides in a “temporary” Heaven and Hell. A person's eternal destiny will not change, but the precise "location" of a person's eternal destiny will change. At some point after death, believers will be sent to the New Heavens and New Earth (Revelation 21:1). At some point after death, unbelievers will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people - based entirely on whether a person had trusted Jesus Christ alone for the salvation of their sins.

Watchman left out a couple of Bible quotes concerning this subject:
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
and
It is appointed unto man once to die, after this the judgment.
And by the way, the Bible doesn't say anything about a place called purgatory.

heaven doesn't exist, and hell doesn't exist. you are transferred to the dimensional parallel universe and remain there until both the God and the Goddess assign you to live in this dimension again as a life form. you don't die unless you get into major trouble, and if you get into trouble you get sent to the ninth dimension. That's where Mary resides (Bloody Mary) and she's really mean, so be nice to us pagans and wiccans.

I've already been to Hell and I'm still not dead so I'm thinking Heaven and Hell is a state of mind and Hell has an address where I've already lived.
Peace.

I believe that you have a spirit and you have to walk into a light to go to heaven. I don't know about hell though.

If you die in mortal sin you go straight to hell. If you die in Gods Grace but you still have to pay for the consequence of your sins you go to purgatory if you don't have to pay for the consequence you go straight to heaven. I'm catholic and i believe what I believe.
I definatley don't believe in a sleep until judgementday.

You are given a choice. God doesn't send you there.
Hell is at the end of a CHRISTLESS LIFE!
It doesn't matter whose going to Hell, because we are (or were) children of perdition. What really matters is...who's going to HEAVEN?

Hi,,, well as it is written,, and Jesus said to the thief, "Today you will be with me in paradise".....
and the rich man looked up from his torment, and saw Lazurus (not the rose from the dead one, the beggar that died) in the arm of Abraham, and ask if he would touch his toung with cool water to help his torment of the pit..
So as it is written, so must it be !!!
good luck
