.006 mill is .00006" there are 25.4 millimeters in an inch

so that would be .0015 millimeters and this is thinner than a human hair.

BUT I expect you meant to ask what is 6 mills or .006" in millimeters and that answer would be .1524 millimeters

First of all....A mil is a Non-technical term for the thickness.

One Mil = 0.001 of One Inch, or 1/1000 of an Inch. Imperial Units

Six Mils = 0.006 of One inch, or 6/1000 of an Inch. Imperial Units

Now you need to convert the Imperial unit, 0.006 to the Metric equivalent.

0.006 x 25.4 = metric value

0.006 x 25.4 = 0.1524 mm = 0.1524 millimeters

Micron is another issue for another question or email me.

The issue is that the use of Mil is an Old electrical term that continues to be used in a Metric World.

Just be cautious in the conversion from Imperial (English) to Metric. Remember that 25.4 is the Key....either multiply or divide by 25.4 to get the equivalent approx. value.

Good Luck.

If by "Mil" you refer to a thousandth of an inch (0.001) then the answer should be (0.006 x 1000)/25.4 = 0.236 millimeters. In other words a little less than 1/4 of a millimeter.

Note: 25.4 millimeters per inch.

Careful, here in the US and A, mil means a thousandth of an inch.

1 inch == 25.4 mm
0.006 == 6/1000 inch
Hence 0.006 inch == 6/1000 * 25.4 == 0.1524 mm
