$600 of clothes from Hollister is too much, in my opinion. a sweet gesture would be to get her a shirt or an outfit from Hollister that she really liked... a $600 shopping spree would be her taking advantage of you.
if you want to let her down gently, just say that you want to save the money to do a lot of special things with her, instead of just spending it all at once. or if it's heading this way: you could tell her that you're saving up for something really special for her (like a ring or a trip). but don't use that excuse if you're not really saving up for something special for her.
or if you don't want to sugar coat things, tell her that $600 worth of Hollister clothes is a bit excessive to ask of you and that she can get a job where she can pay for it herself. if she's making you feel bad about it... ask her if she wants you to struggle with paying your bills.
this sort of demand makes her sound like a manipulative gold-digger...

If your girlfriend has the nerve to ask for so much, she is really money hungry and not worthy of a good boyfriend! If she likes to make you feel bad, she is not a good girlfriend and you should reconsider your relationship with her. Tell her you are unable to spend so much and that you would like to put a limit on gifts and focus more on spending time together. If she pouts, dump her and find someone who wants you for you, not what you can buy her.

Dump the ho. She's only in it for the money. A real gf would rather you keep the money and not expect or even ask for anything like that.

What is your budget? Tell her your budget. See what the two of you can compromise.
Now, if she is the irrational kind. Be sneaky, don't tell her the truth directly, but in same time don't tell an outright lie.
