If I understand the question correctly, you cooked a turkey in the oil a year ago and want to know if you can use it again now?
NO! Oil can go bad (get rancid, for example); and if you cooked meat in it a year ago, even though the heat would kill the bacteria, etc., there is a good risk that the flavor will be affected. It is worth the cost and inconvenience of replacing the oil.

Peanut Oil is much better for you, as it has very little trans fat compared to some of the other oils/shortenings. It also had less saturated fat. These are better for you than regular chips, and your cholesterol will not be affected as badly.

Even if it had not been sitting for the past year, peanut oil is pretty much garbage after one use. I highly suggest getting new oil.

i don't know exactly but i keep p-oil in my deep fryer until it gets to much crap in the bottom. filter it and use it again. sometimes it is there three months or more.. i don't think it goes rancid. high heat kills bugs..you might call the customer relations number on the contaner..no container, go to the store and read it off the bottle. if you are worried go to BJ's, for $24.00 and buy a new container, i think it is four gallons.. happy thanksgiving
