My cousin moved to Bombay, India some years ago to fill the void left when my mother's grandmother died. Basically, she was a widow and needed a man to take over the estate. Well, while he was there he met a Zoroastrian maiden in her virginity and took her hand in marriage. After my great-grandmother died, his wife convinced him to put her in a Dokhmas (Tower of Silence). I found out from my husband that this looked like a open air medieval tower that the body was placed in and the vultures and elements taking away the flesh from the bones :( Icky!! Well, afterwards my cousin sold his estate and moved to Michigan with his wife and adorable children. Now they are coming up for Thanksgiving dinner and my mother still hasn't gotten over this. I mean it hurts me too, but I don't like to hold grudges :( I think his wife is also reading the Avesta to her children which mom doesn't like either. What can I do to help my mom be cordial to her?

Regarding your Edit: I think you are not getting many answers because people are weary of your antics. Also, I noticed you seem to be confusing some of your religious terms and cultural precepts, so you may want to check your sources a little better before you start on your next spin off.

Why on earth would your cousin's wife be reading the Avesta to her children when they do not have a Parsi father? This is absurd! Doesn't she know that they will never be allowed to experience the Navjote? Perhaps your mother will be more cordial after you explain to her that Zoroastrianism has been proposed as the source of some of the most important post-Torah aspects of Judaic religious thinking. If that does not work, sacrifice the lamb.

tower of silence, yeah right.. thats believable.
my tower of silence is right next to my fortress of solitude, and the stable where I keep my dragon and unicorns.
I would be surprised if your really had a husband or child, heck don't think you have parents, given your constant idiocy I'm beginning to think you were hatched from a egg.

ask your Mom if she would just be cordial to this woman, she does not have to like her but I don't think she needs to say anything to her,at this time and I don't think her grandmother would want her to cause any problems.
