Well, sure all kids are different, skeater, but I think this person is just asking generally, and just seeing what most people think or say. I am a 2nd teacher (and I've taught 5th and 4th) and I ask this question to my students at the beginning and end of the school year. Most of them usually say math in September.

My favorite subject is reading. And I try really hard to make them like reading during the year. We all get into AR. I give them little prizes for reading, testing, and getting points. We do little plays and skits and I just really try to make them enjoying reading--both the subject and the practice. At the end of the year, I've usually made a few converts and a few more will say reading is their favorite subject, but most of them still say math is their favorite.

My favorite subject is Math, and has always been Math. I also like Science, and the two kind of go together... English is more like a subject you deal with, but it's not too bad.

It depends on the kid!

Every child is different with different cultures and backgrounds.

I don't think there is a universal subject that every kid will call their favorite.

It really depends on the kid's personality and strengths. However a lot of the times it will be gym, art, music, and other specials.
