It is a quote from Saint Augustine - "He who sings prays twice". It is simply meant to describe the high place of music in worship.

Especially in Psalms , the composer would take the psalm(the prayer that David had to God) and make it into a song , so not only your singing a song, but you are singing a prayer

Well, in my case, it would be more than twice if I sang a prayer. Anyone withing a 50 ft radius would be praying for me to shut up

I have not heard this before Midge but i do like singing prayers see you can always learn somting new.
