As explained on the History Channel, The complete De Vinci Code theory was based on a mis-print. It was an innocent mistake. There were no copying machines during the early church days.
So, religious scribes spent all their lives making hand-written copies of the Bible. Thousands of Bibles were accurately produced by this method. However, one such scribe accidentally wrote "bloodline" instead of "wine". Or, something to that effect.
Evidently the Latin for "wine" and the Latin for "bloodline" are very similar in their spelling.
Then someone saw De Vinci's painting of the "Lord's Supper" and figured that De Vinci painted one of the deciples to look like a woman. The De Vinci allegation is that that feminine looking deciple was a coded message to tell us that that was Mary, and that Jesus was intimate with Mary. And, that after the crucifixion, Mary gave birth to her and Jesus' child. Which would mean that Jesus' bloodline could be walking the streets with us today.
Actually, if Jesus and Mary were married, all the church folks and his followers would not have hidden it, they would have been very proud of it.
In fact, Paul was often criticized for not having a wife. Usually, to be a member of the Sanhedrans (a leadership group among the Jews), it was required that the person must first be married.

Praise Jesus. Jesus May Have Been Romantically Inclined Towards Mary. But Having Children, Come On. He Knew all Along That He Had To Be a Paerfect Sacrifice On The Cross.
Have You Noticed That The Code Doesnt Stand The Test Of Time. True Christians Forget The Novel Almost Instantly Upon finishing Reading It.

first of all the "DaVinci Code" is a movie based on a book. The writer Dan Brown is theorizing what if . What if the man that looks like a woman at the last supper was actually a woman. Mary Magdalene who the Catholic church wanted to paint as bad as possible so their boy-loving priests could make sure no woman had any authority in the church , painted her as a prostitute. Parts of the early texts of the gnostic bible were hidden and destroyed as Gnostic's were not considered the right kind of Christians so you weave history with some facts and a Catholic church that liked to play fast and loose with the truth and you have a best seller and a blockbuster. The easiest thing to do to be a good Christian is to believe in Jesus and try to imitate his life based on the little we can guess from what remains we have to work with in the form of the highly edited bible.

Is there such a thing as Da Vinci Code truth? It is important to remember that The Da Vinci Code (The DaVinci Code) is entirely fictional. As much as author Dan Brown would like you to believe, The Da Vinci Code has no solid basis historically, Biblically, or theologically. The Da Vinci Code is essentially an attempt to "humanize" Jesus Christ by inventing a story of how His true identity was distorted and hidden for nearly two thousand years. In The Da Vinci Code, Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and had children. Mary Magdalene and Jesus’ descendants were the “holy grail” that carries the blood of Christ. The Da Vinci Code states that these facts about Jesus Christ were covered up by the early church in order to protect the idea of Jesus’ divinity. All the Christian books which told of Jesus’ relationship with Mary Magdalene were destroyed. Any evidence of such a relationship was covered up.
Again, The Da Vinci Code is fiction. It has no basis in reality. It is a well-written, entertaining book – but that is it. Dan Brown, the author, is of the persuasion that these ideas about Jesus are true. Since there is no historical, Biblical, or theological basis for his beliefs, Dan Brown presented them in a fictional account. Jesus was not married to Mary Magdalene or anyone else. Jesus did not have any children. Yes, the early church attempted to destroy many “gospels” about Jesus, but they did so because they were almost universally recognized as heretical, not to cover anything up. Even these “gospels” only give hints of a relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The church did not cover up the truth about Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene. Rather, the church protected the truth about Jesus being God in the flesh (John 1:1,14).
The Da Vinci Code is in reality an attack on the Person of Jesus Christ. People do not want to believe that Jesus is God, that Jesus is the Savior – so they make up false beliefs about Him in order to create a false Jesus that they can believe in. That is what The Da Vinci Code is all about – presenting a false view of who Jesus Christ truly was…and then explaining why this “truth” has been "hidden" for nearly 2000 years.

They are not saying that someone took parts of the bible out to hide this. They are saying that history is written by the winners. Peter was the founder of the church, and he was jealous of Mary, so he tried to recast her role in history as a prostitute instead of a trusted companion of Jesus. There have been scrolls found that "seem" to support this, but it's whatever you believe that counts.

Da Vinci code is a story, generally allowed to perpetuate because a good mystery/consipracy theory keeps people interested in Christianity.
The reality is Jesus was one of many of the time, who believed they were the son of god. He met mary, who was a bit of a go'er and she polished his holy trinity for him.
There is no mystery, just hype. The only thing Jesus gave mary was a good seeing to, and she saw that it was good.

Don't recall what section of the story you're referring to. But Dan Brown, the author, plainly states that the Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction.

I guess the idea is that the culture of the Middle East was very, very patriarchal. The notion of a woman inhereting Jesus's ministry would have been seen as heretical or worse. According to the story, it was a simple power grab...one that the Church would supposedly do anything to protect.

Jesus and Mary Magdalene were going to have a child, but they killed jesus so Mary went to France and married into the royal family. According to the Final Dinner, or the Last Supper (whatever it's called) one of his apostles is actualy Mary, who is on the left of jesus as you see the picture.

it started when little Dan Brown was in Catholic school and asked a nun to marry him. She said because Jesus never married, she couldn't. However, if Danny could re-write history and proove Jesus married, then the nun would be free to marry danny
look at the motivation behind the story ... not the "alluded to" / "maybe" / "what-if"s
