LCD is liquid crystal display if a pixel goes bad you're out of luck
and the blacks seem to blend into one large black area .
DLP is highly touted it's made up of millions of mirrors at different degrees of brightness blinking at nano speeds.
both are still new and over priced hence still being developed and the price will come down
I prefer a cathode ray tube at High definition with widesreen and flat slim line tube it's better for black tones than LCD it's been developed much longer than the others the picture is bright and much easier on the pocket book.also we have some HD plasma
sreens at work and they have little white dots running through the picture . And the high quality DLP is only in theaters because the
duplicate mirror units start around 15to 20 thousand dollars as contrasted to the home singular units that go for $2,000 or so....
is new better or worth it unless you need oever thirty inches and a wall hung unit I'll stick with CRT but between LCD and DLP I'll go with the DLP .Flat for hanging and less space .
Projection sometimes appears fuzzy or hazy watch out new is not always better.also CRT is only up to 30to34 inches the others are 40 and 50 inches .FOR MORE INFO :

Here are the differences as they relate to most consumers:
LCD comes in two forms: Flat LCD and LCD Projection.
Flat LCD is better than LCD Projection. They (flat lcd) usually have a life of 50,000 hours without any maintenance whatsoever. There are a lot of cheap LCD units, and you get what you pay for. If you're looking at this technology, watch it and see which offers the blackest black and the whitest white. If the "black" picture is gray, walk away. It was cheaply made, the electronics inside don't have a good contrast ratio, and you'll regret it. A good LCD will have a black picture, say, between commercials. A cheap one will have a charcoal gray. The minimum contrast ratio I would personally accept is 3000:1, as that gives a full range color spectrum that a, say 1200:1 wouldn't give. And I'm not really that big of a videophile. But that's your main spec to look for in this arena. YOu can get a really nice 40" for around $2000.
LCD projection needs to have the lamp replaced every 5-6 years, and the LCD panel can wear out, lose color, fade, warp or end up with dead pixels. It can also burn-in over time. LCD projection will look GREAT the first 2 years. Then it will degrade and lose its sparkle quickly. I wouldn't buy one, but if you wanted to, you could get roughly the same size LCD PJ as you could the same size DLP.
DLP is king. While you also have to change the bulb every 5-6 years, there is NO color loss, it's a pure digital picture, NO burn-in. The mirror chip will last an easy 80,000 per Texas Instruments. No picture degredation over time, no warping possible (as on LCDs), and pixel burnout is so rare, its not worth mentioning. It is also very lightweight when compared to LCD projections, so if you're going to encase it in a nice armoire or display, you don't have to worry about it breaking your furniture. You can get those as low as $1300 for a 42", and you can even get a 1080p 60+ inch top of the line for around $2800.
Holiday sales will make it an even better buy.
If you do go with a flat technology, one important thing to consider is how you're going to hang it on the wall. I suggest that you consider a custom install by a professional if you're going to wall-mount it - that is, unless you want the power cable, HDMI cable, component cable and audio cables all streaming down the wall. Most flat LCDs come with a stand, and if you don't want the trouble of digging into your walls, go that route.
Just a friendly suggestion. :) E-Mail me if you have any other questions.

DLP is an older technologies yet nonetheless has very sturdy photograph high quality reckoning on the kind of the television. regularly DLP television's are lots larger. LED television's are a greater present day technologies yet don't be fooled. maximum "LED" television's basically encompass the demonstrate screen with LED and something of the demonstrate screen is liquid crystal demonstrate. basically the dearer and greater present day television's like the pointy Aquos have an entire LED backlight with stronger assessment and photograph high quality.
