I don't know why. Lately I've been missing one of my friends from high school that I haven't talked to in like 2 years. We sort of drifted apart...he went onto his gaming college to study Comp Sci..while I went to a different one, and I'm undecided.

Winter is here, so I'm feeling a little bit of the seasonal blues.

As I stated before, I have an undecided major in college, and I'm going into my second semester of my second year..and I don't know what to take.

I have basically no friends at college....only a few mere acquaintances.

God, I just don't know what to do. I feel like somehow I've betrayed my friend...he was always so non-mainstream and here I am wearing Aber and Hollister, talking with girls, etc...

I also haven't felt at home with any religion lately...been kinda Atheist. Same with political views.

Not sure what to do here. Any way to help myself cheer up? I don't really wanna go the anti-depressant route but if they truly help..

also..is pharmacy a good college major?

College can be tough that way, pretty lonely, not knowing what to do with your life, feeling nostalgic about high school. I went through the same thing, and I let it get really bad until I needed the antidepressants to get me on the right track again. It sounds like you're just starting to slide, so now is a good time to take some action. How about getting iin touch with the career counselors at the college? There are a few tests you can take that match your skills and personality to certain jobs that people like you enjoy, so it might give you some direction. Pharmacology is something I find interesting, and it is certainly a good field to join, financially, but if you don't like biology and biochemistry and organic chem, it's probably not your thing. Again, start with what you like to do and are good at, then look for a way to make a living at it.

Depression-wise, the symptoms to look for are: sleeping more or less than before, eating more or less than before, gaining or losing weight, losing interest in things you used to like, not enjoying things the way you used to, feeling sad, guilty or hopeless, feeling worthless, and the symptoms last on most days for two weeks or more. Don't hesitate to get help if you think this sounds like you. Depression is really common in college students, and it is very treatable. Just walk into the college health clinic. They'll know how to help. Good luck.

Aww. Well, try to find an activity you can join at the college. Maybe a religious group, a sport, a musical instrument... then you'll meet friends that enjoy the same thing as you. You can always call your old friend and catch up. He's only a phone call away! Also, you may want to talk to the college counseler or someone you trust (maybe a parent or relative). Don't worry... everything will soon work out!

Take your questions to a good psychologist or therapist. If you do need medication, and take it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it before. Depression is sometimes a result of the ability to cope with life's stressors. You may just need a little talk therapy. Seems like you have a lot on your plate right now. Talking it out with a professional who understands will set you on the right track. And, yes, pharmacology is a good major.

There is nothing wrong with taking anti-depressants. They can help you get over your anxiety, so you can make friends and think more clearly. Go and talk to your doctor. As far as a major that is really up to you, I can't give you any suggestions b/c I don't know you. If I were you I wold go talk to your advisor and see if they can help point you in the right direction.

if y ou take them then pretty soon you cannot live without them. Look mate, in this life s***t happens now and again and it's all part of your adult experience, thats how you grow--- experiencing lifes ups and downs. You learn to shrug your shoulders and move on. What you are experiencing is LIFE
