not many places actually reporting cases of flu yet. Probably normal cold virus- treatment is the same at this stage anyway.

Hi, my whole family has had that nasty cough, with runny nose and slight temp. The cough is the Pitts you just feel like you are going to die. I am not sure if it is viral or bacterial but it is going around and it takes a while for it to go away. I would call the doc if you continue to get worst it could be bronchitis!
I have not heard of a flu outbreak yet!

Watch that cough!! If the cough doesn't get any better, go to your doctor for an antibiotic, theirs nothing worse than if it develops into Bronchitis. Ive had it so bad, I couldn't even sleep at night, I just coughed and coughed, and was miserable. It can even go into Pneumonia. If your fever goes over 101, also, I would go to the doctors if Tylenol doesn't seem to be enough to lower it. I just don't play around with coughs, they can be really nasty and make you awful sick!

It could be. It is most important right now to ensure that you are drinking enough fluids. For every degree over normal (98.6) you should drink an extra liter of fluid. Take the cough medicine if you need it, and MAKE SURE YOU DRINK lots of water. You may also try Pedialyte or it's generic equivalent (available at Wal Mart or any grocery store in the baby aisle.)
Take care and feel better soon!!

If you have a fever, its more likely to be the flu. If you get worse, go and get a chest x-ray. You may have pneumonia.

Get plenty of rest, and drink non-alcoholic and decaffeinated liquid, also humidify your room. These will minimize your illness.
