iMovie alternative?

I'm in a video production class and we use iMovie to edit our videos, and i really like it. But... I have a PC. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a free (or relatively cheap) movie editing program for windows, with similar capabilities as iMove has.

If you have Windows XP you can use MovieMaker -- it is free and it comes with every copy of Windows XP.
