The word "pretty" is relative to a variety of things... You can't define someone's entire persona by the way they appear on the outside. Of course it's a factor and we are naturally attracted to people who appear closer to our society's "ideal", but that is only because we constantly chase perfection.
My advice: get to know both of them. In the end, if personality shines through more in one than the other and you can truly say that she is more "beautiful", inside and out, than it is her who is prettier. Don't make assumptions or be impulsive when it comes to relationships/love. In the end everyone will be old and wrinkly anyway, and only personality, heart and support will matter then.
For now, make a decision based on what YOU think and don't EVER let other's beliefs sway that.

ah yes let's judge people by the way they look...
i'd be more worried about who is happier.. easy going, level headed.. smart... even tempered.... mature minded and had a sense of humor.
