3 men went to the hotel. It costed 30 dollar to rent a room. SO each man payed 10 dollar. The manager that day felt good so he gave 5 dollar back to the customer. The cashier was supposed to give back the money. He needed money that day so he took 2 dollars and gave back only 3 dollars. But when the three men got their money back the men thought they were given a three dollar discount meaning they only got back 2 dollars. That means each man payed 9 dollars each. 27 dollars in all. What happened to that one dollar?

There is no extra dollar, the manager has 25, the cashier has 2 and each of the 3 men has 1. that comes out to 30.

The men were to pay 30 but got 3 back. The initial amount would have been 30 less 5 =25 but the cashier kept 2 which took the reduction from 30 to 27 which is what they paid...There is no missing dollar

Where the heck did the bellman come from? teeeee and it was to be one room for $30....This was a difficult one. Thanks for the brain stretch... hard to do this if people change their answer once the actual one comes in.

well the manager gave back 5 so they only payed 25.the cashier kept 2.so 25 and 2 is 27.then they each got 1 dollar.that makes 3+25+2=30.there is no missing dollar.
