I am in the understanding that to be dead in the bible can mean two things. Physically dead or spiritually dead. When someone is spiritually dead (but not physically) they still have their five senses, but that is all they use to see, hear, understand, ect. I am looking for some evidence in the Bible that is very clear that the person going to hell is physically dead, not just spiritually. And just because it is talking about a pit, doesn't mean it is somewhere else then earth, this place can be a pit. And its reference to being down somewhere can mean earth too. Jesus came down from heaven. Please try to stay away from proving one has to die physically inorder to go down unless it makes sense of course.

Hell is nothing more than the common grave of mankind, all who die go there regardless with the exception of the 144,000 who were bought from the earth to serve as priests and kings with Christ Jesus in heaven where they will rule over the earth for a thousand years while bringing everything back to perfection. Luke 16 was mentioned here, but, Jesus spoke this to the Pharisees with them in mind, it's an illustration of the condition they are in and of the common people, the Pharisees are represented by the rich man and the common people are represented by Lazarus, actually Lazarus of the illustration could not literally be in heaven as God's word says that no one has ascended into heaven except he that descended from heaven, that would be Jesus, and since Jesus spoke the illustration, no one could already have gone to heaven. Ezekiel 18:4 says that the soul that is sinning, it itself will die. In Revelation it says that hell will be emptied, and Jesus said that all in their memorial tombs will come out. Resurrection defined means; a standing up. So to be resurrected, you will be brought back in the flesh to reside forever on the earth Psalms 37:11,29 Read Ecclesiastes 9:5,10 for the condition of the dead.

In a sense, we are all spiritually dead unless we have accepted The Lord into our lives, we have to be born again in Jesus first, to be spiritually alive.
When we return to dust, remember that is how we started, Our Spirit will remain, When the Mesiah returns those that Know The Lord will have eternal life in The Holy Kingdom, That is Gods Promise in the Bible, as far as the firery pit, that is where satan will be sent and all his demons.

Is hell real? Studies show that over 90% of people in the world believe in a "heaven" while less than 50% believe in an eternal hell. According to the Bible, hell is most definitely real! The punishment of the wicked in hell is as never-ending as the bliss of the righteous in Heaven. The punishment of the wicked dead in hell is described throughout Scripture as "everlasting fire" (Matthew 25:41), "unquenchable fire" (Matthew 3:12), "shame and everlasting contempt" (Daniel 12:2), a place where "their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:44-49), a place of "torments" and "flame" (Luke 16:23,24), "everlasting destruction" (2 Thessalonians 1:9), a place of torment with "fire and brimstone" where "the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever" (Revelation 14:10,11), and a "lake of fire and brimstone" where the wicked are "tormented day and night forever and ever" (Revelation 20:10). Jesus Himself indicates that the punishment in hell itself is everlasting - not merely the smoke and flames (Matthew 25:46).

The wicked are forever subject to the fury and the wrath of God in hell. They consciously suffer shame and contempt and the assaults of an accusing conscience -- along with the fiery wrath of an offended deity -- for all of eternity. Even those in hell will acknowledge the perfect justice of God (Psalms 76:10). Those who are in the very real hell will know that their punishment is just and that they alone are to blame (Deuteronomy 32:3-5). Yes, hell is real. Yes, hell is a place of torment and punishment that lasts forever and ever, with no end! Praise God that through Jesus, we can escape this eternal fate (John 3:16,18,36

Anyone can make their own life hell on earth. That's not biblical. Nor does anyone have to prove it to you... It's just good sense.

But that does not equate to the place called hell. As in the opposite of heaven. As in a place you may go to when you die.

Hebrew theology views the world (not the planet, but all existance AS the world) in three parts. Upper earth - heaven, Middle earth - this planet, and Lower earth - hell, sheol, the pit, gehenna.

Since you don't want me to prove it to you, I'll just stop there. You can go look it up yourself.

Revelation 20:13-15 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Mark 9:45 "And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It would be better for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched-- 46 where 'Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.' 47 "And if your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It would be better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into the fiery hell, 48 where 'Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'
