This has been a growing problem for me lately- between the hours of 1:30 and 3, pretty much every day, I become completely exhausted. I can actually feel the eyes rolling in the back of my head sometimes, and I have a very difficult time conversing with anyone at work. Then, magically, out of nowhere, I'm fine again. Anyone have any ideas? I take a bunch of medication, but none I know of have drowsiness symptoms. Thanks!

It very possibly could be your diet. If you eat a lot of carbs the first part of the day, you will "crash" around 2 p.m. That means the carbs raises your blood sugar then it rapidly falls about 4 hours later. Keep a jar of peanut butter around to snack on or eat several small meals a day instead of one or two big ones. This will keep your metabolism at a more even keel throughout the day.

It could have something to do with what you had for lunch. Tomorrow, try having a lunch that is fewer carbs, a little more protein and some less sugary fruits. Stay away from the sugars in general. Then, after lunch, take a quick power walk. I would bet that tomorrow, if you do this, you'll be energized instead of falling asleep.

It could be DEHYDRATION!! A lot of mid-afternoon drowsiness is caused by this, especially if you are a coffee drinker in the am (this is a dehydrator). Tomorrow try drinking a few 8 oz glasses of water, let me know how it goes!
