"Cherry Snowballs" - 2 1/2 dozen
1 cup butter; softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (6 oz.) jar maraschino cherries without stems; drained and halved
Additional confectioners' sugar
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and confectioners' sugar; gradually add flour. Shape a tablespoon of dough around each cherry, forming a ball. Place 1" apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 325* for 18-20 minutes or until the bottoms are browned. Roll warm cookies in confectioners' sugar. Cool on wire racks.

The Hershey Kiss cookies receipe is this:
Peanut Blossoms
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
48 chocolate kisses
extra sugar for rolling
Combine all the ingredients except the candy. Roll into balls (Tablespoon size) and roll in sugar. Bake 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Upon removing from oven, firmly press one candy kiss into the middle of each cookie.

Cocoa Kiss Cookies
2 sticks or 1c. butter or margarine, softened
2/3 c. sugar
1t. vanilla extract
1 2/3c. all purpose flour
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa
1c. finely chopped pecans
1 bag (9oz.) Hershey's kisses milk chocolates
Powdered sugar
Beat butter sugarand vanilla in large bowl until creamy. Stir together flour and cocoa; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Add pecans, beat until well blended. Refrigerate dough for about an hour or until firm enough to handle.
Heat oven to 375* Remove wrappers from chocolate candies mold tablespoon of dough around each chocolate piece covering completely. Shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes untiil set. Cool slightly about 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Roll in powdered sugar. Roll in sugar again just before serving, if desired.
Makes about 41/2 dozen cookies

Thumbprint cookies.
1/2 cup margarine, soft
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
1 large egg, separated
1 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
Jam or jelly or preserves. Chocolate kisses or Cherries.
Mix margarine and sugar to creamy.
Add syrup and egg yolk.
Stir in flour, mix well.
Chill dough.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Dip in slightly beaten egg white.
Roll into nuts.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Press thumb into center of each cookie.
Bake at 325° for 20 minutes.
While warm fill center or each cookie with your favorite jam, jelly, preserves, kiss or cherry.
