Bound's hubby here:

The AR you have listed in the link is an accurized version, that most shooters call a "Space Gun".

There are small modifications added by Colt to increase the accuracy of the AR.

First, notice the handguard ... it is a design called a "float tube". By its design, the handguard attaches only to the upper receiver. No part of the barrel contacts the handguard. Also, the sling swivel mounts are attached to the handguard, not the barrel. What these minor modifications do is to reduce the downward pressure that would be applied to the barrel when the rifleman attaches the riflesling to their arm. This DOES increase the accuracy of the rifle.

Second, what can not be seen, but is probably installed, is a devise called an "accu-wedge", a small "rubber-like" washer that fits between the lower and upper receiver at the rear pillar, near the rear receiver pin.

Hope this answers your question!

Good luck!

it has a free floating barrel that means when the slide is propelled backwards, you can shake it and it will wobble. on the front of the weapon there is a bushing with a tapered hole in it that matches the taper of the barrel that when the weapon is a rest, it holds the barrel still. The military grade version has more clearance to avoid dirt from causing a jam. An accurizer bushing simply has a tighter tolerance and holds the barrel more precisely. for better accuracy.

This can apply to any weapon that has a design based on the Colt 1911

I think you mean "accurized?" It is a barrel that has been made "accurate;" that is, a custom made and fitted barrel for better accuracy.

just a guess....probably has something to do with the accuracy of the weapon, they "accurised" it, made it more accurate.
