I have some files from an installation of an IOMega drive that I cannot get rid of from my computer. I have tried the Windows removal tool with no success and I have tried the delete command both from the dos prompt and after a safe mode reboot.

how about administrator password? do you have to log in with it?

Or try to make a powerfull account for your "administrator", it means, its not only member of "administrators" but make it member to all group instead.

Here's the step:
- boot from safe mode-or just normally if possible
- right click on My Computer, click "Manage"
- click "local user and group"
- click "user" folder

- double-click on your administrator account,
- click "member of" tab,
- click add..
- click "advance"
- click "find now.."
- select all of finded groups..
- click "OK"

- restart.
- boot to your DOS system.
- use your administrator-powerfull account to login.

That's all.
Hope usefull for you,

If you are having trouble removing a file, it is probably because they are still inuse. Have you removed the program via the Add or Remove programs control panel?

If so, and the program files are still there, then you can follow the steps in this guide to remove those undeletable files:
