i'm 13 years old and my hair is about half way down my back...i really want (and need) and hair cut but i don't know how i want it cut. do you have any ideas?

If you're looking for a drastic change, I would cut it between ear-shoulder length, which is very popular right now.
Also, your hair is long enough to participate in Locks of Love, an organization that collects hair to make wigs for people who have cancer.
My suggestion would be to get an inverse bob--this is a cut that is longest around your face and progressively gets shorter towards the back--it's very modern, sophistocated and cute.

Heres a suggestion: If you are insecure about going all out (you know super short etc..) then cut your hair with long layers....its stylish but you can still put it up easily. If you are a little bit of a dare devil then go for layers combined with a side swept short bang (this look is really in right now). Look through hairstyle magazines and beauty magazines too, they tend to have a lot of cute cuts and styles that can give you some inspiration. Just remember the main thing is to have fun! (Hair will always grow back...)

Well my hair is short its like right at my shourders but if your hair is down to your back cut it some and my hair is cut in layers so i think its a good idea to get your hair cut i layers

Cut your hair to shoulder length, maybe straightening it a little more or make it wavy by French braiding it when wet. Also get side swept bangs cut in too! (ask lindsey if not sure!) Hey c u first hour! Lylas

get a cut that goes straight across and just trims all your split ends. If you have not decided what type of hair cut it is best not to go from long to short.

I just got my hair cut too, it was about the same length as yours. I got it a few inches past my shoulders with layers (shortest ones at the chin) and long side bangs. I think it looks pretty cute :) Good luck!

pick up some magazines and find a style you love. Before letting your hairdresser start ask her if you have the right texture and type of hair for that style take a few options with you the more research you do the happier you will be!

Because its short enough to look cute
but its not too short.
But yet its long enough to put up in a pony,
but its not too long.

whatever you do dont get layers you'll regret it when it starts to grow...have you tried bands to the side. they seem to be a big hit right now and are really cute with all different hair lengths and colors.

to donate hair to cancer kids... you'll have to cut off 11 inches and go to locksof love.com
after that have it layered up and maybe a few light streak throught it to give it demenion...
