Perhaps because Liberalism is... Dead!
Sure Democrats won a decisive victory in the midterms, but look at them! They aren't even in power yet and are already backing down from nearly everything they guaranteed they would institute in their first 100 hours in power.
On second thought, maybe liberalism isn't dead... It just moved to France a few years back.

Just can't resist - sorry to anyone this offends (well, kinda)
Quit bathing and shaving. Start dumpster diving for your clothes. Buy a Subaru and then complain endlessly about the outsourcing of jobs. Trust me - at least 99% of the libs around here fit that description!

the stereotype for a conservative would suggest that all conservatives dress... well... conservatively. it's easy to pick on this style because it's more specific.
it would be harder to pinpoint liberal style because there are so many liberal sub-groups that are stereotyped. you have environmentalists, gay/lesbian, hippies, college students, etc. whereas the main stereotypes for conservatives that you have are the religious folk and the rich, which when stereotyped both tend to be wearing their sunday best.

Conservative=status quo. You know what a 3-pc. suit is.
Except that they hate anything conservative, what would be a Liberal fashion? Will Rogers,"I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."

Go to Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills, and find the most expensive out fit. Buy it. Then, spend the rest of your life telling people how you are all for helping the poor.

I must lead a sheltered life. My liberal friends dress just like I do. Casual for casual occassions. Professional for professional occassions.

we live in a fascist country where the corporation rules supreme so you gotta wear gray flannel or get a job in construction. liberal is not a fashion statement. i have found in general liberals look better in conservative clothes than conservatives do because they are less likely to have beer guts and drive SUVs.

The whole point of being liberal is that you don't have to follow the flock like sheep. Do your own thing, and you'll look like a liberal.
