ones being selfish with his brolly, or he's short and they're blocking the rain out?
Sorry for being morbid but are they carrying a coffin with one of them in it, cause you didn't say they were all walking.

He's walking close to the walls, therefor protected from the roofs. The rest are walking closer to the road, therefor getting wet.
