Not much! Depends on the MP count of your camera. Don't plan on more than 8 or 10 most of the time... This would be "emergency backup" to me.

Depends on the file size. If the file is 1 mega pixel, then about 7 or 8.
If a small file, then a few more. 8MB is not a lot of memory by today's standards.

Firstly, don't worry about the 8MB internal memory. It's nothing. I would recommend shooting your photos always at the best resolution (fine). Nothing less. Memory cards are so cheap now...I would buy the 1GB card, and at least you will never worry about running out of storage space, especially if you shoot a few 'movies'. P.S. if you let us know what model and make of camera you have, then we could tell you exactly what you need to know.

depends by photo resolution in Megapixels + compression ratio ...if is about 8 Megapixels the file is around 2.5 Megabytes ...so that card of 8 Mb will hold 3 -4 pictures.

Not many and depends on file size I keep a small card as back up but never had to use it yet
