Realize that sleeping is not something that you have to try to achieve, its something natural that should occur on its own.
Trying to go to sleep will only keep you more awake, just lay back, don't think too much and let sleep take over you.

Here's some tips to help you ....
- Ensure you do not eat anything at-least 2 to 3 hours before bed.
- If you drink too much coffee or high energy caffine drinks during the day, reduce or try to eliminate them completely. Avoid coffee in the evenings, a cup of tea is better.
- A cup of hot milk (unsweetened) before bed, should help.
- A good shower before bed works just as fine.
- Make sure your bed is comfortable, and the temperature in your room is set to a comfortable setting to your body.
- If there are any external noises distracting you from sleeping, do something about it to ensure its quiet and peaceful.
- When laying on your bed. Focus on your breathing. If you find your mind drifting to thoughts, slowly bring your attention back to your breathing.
- Before bedtime, DO NOT engage yourself in an activity that may get you excited, such as reading a book or watching an engaging TV show, this will only make u more alert. However if it relaxes you, then its fine.

Hope these tips help.

Have you tried vitamins? Not only could this be a problem for tiredness, but a well-balanced system could help you sleep better. My kid's pediatrician recommends Melatonin, which works extremely well on some people and not at all on others. He says it is all natural with no side affects of sleeping pills. It comes in 1 mg and 3 mg. Take 3 mg. He took it when he was having sleeping problems.

It sounds like you're getting the right amount of sleep, but you'd like to go to sleep earlier so you can get up earlier. Getting your body used to a new routine is simply a matter of repetition. Keep trying.

I don't know if there are things like background noise and light that are interfering when you try to go to bed early. If so, you may want to put some wave sounds on the CD player or wear earplugs. You may want to put something over your eyes.

Please don't use sleeping pills. They're addictive no matter what the drug companies claim.

Hehe, you sure your in College? You kinda spelled it wrong. =[

I think I have the same problem. My body is just so use to going to sleep late, when I try to go to sleep early, I can't. I think you should start off going to sleep 10 minutes earlier. Like tonight, go to sleep at 10:30 instead of 10:40. Tomorrow, go to sleep at 10:20 isntead of 10:30. The day after that, go to sleep at 10:10 instead of 10:20. Just keep shaving 10 minutes off the time you go to sleep every night. That might help! It will ease you body into a new time to go to sleep.

Also, Advil came out with a new over-the-counter sleeping aid. It's called Advil PM. The stuff works like magic, but let me tell you, it knocks you out. So take it way early, at like 8:00 pm. Because if you take it at 10 PM you won;t be able to get up in the morning!

I think something you should try is just doing more work, studying more, or doing more housework(just an example)-anything considered work. When I studied, it was easier for me to sleep at night--and my sleep was more full. I can't remember feeling such full sleep before. I would say study (really study), and you should be able to sleep better and realize how rich your sleep is. Richer and fuller sleep feels really good. Plus, you'll probably actually feel More lively and your world will feel better. I also think I fell asleep faster, not like before, where I would take a long time to fall asleep. Accomplishing things will help you to sleep better. I feel embarrassed to write this because it shows my laziness and how little I accomplished.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

don't think about sleeping try to get your mind of it, the more you think about wanting to sleep the less you'll be able to. try a sport or reading or a warm glass of milk, this might help.
