For the same price you should be able to find a Canon or Olympus, either of which would probably be better, I am a photo lab manager, and have not been impressed with HP cameras.

Yeah they're okay. I have a hp r717 photosmart 6.2 mp camera. it's nice, it has a memory card- you can just take it and put it into the memory card slot in your computer and voila! pictures. The pictures are clear and it's worth about 150(paid 260 for mine brand new) It has video capability, multiple picture modes including panoramic, you can take sepia, color, and black and white pictures, built in flash, 3x optical zoom lense. It's worth the money. The mp's determine the price really. You might want to check out target-they have the hp photo bundle- camera and picture printer and you could get both for around your budget.
