If your dressing is like mine it has cornbread, onions, celery, etc. Then some form of liquid, right? If this is the case, maybe I can save you some grief. One year I made only the dressing as my part of the meal, which was being held at my daughter's house. She loves my dressing, what can I say! So I mixed up everything for the dressing in a big pan and thought nothing of it. I kept it very cold on the short drive to her house. Well, when I got there, the liquid I had mixed in had caused the cooked, crumbled cornbread to revert to nothing but grains of cornmeal swimming in liquid. Total panic--no dressing with the turkey!!!! Well, to make a long story a bit shorter, I stuck that pan full of liquid, cornmeal, etc. in the oven and an hour later no one would ever have guessed. And it tasted great, too. 'Course some of it sloshed out of the pan in the trunk of my car, because it wasn't supposed to be a sloshy liquid. But at that point that was a minor inconvenience. Just be aware and enjoy your day!

Chef Jambo has the right idea.

However, you CAN mix EVERYTHING together and keep it in the refridge until you are ready to cook it.

It's just not something that most chefs would do because of cross contamination concerns.

Don't stress over it. If you don't have enough time on the day of, then the day before is fine.

Just make it as late in the day as possible. Maybe just before you go to bed. That way it will only sit for 8 hours.

Good Luck. Happy Turkey Day!

Yes it is. The only thing you might want to think about is not adding the eggs until the day you cook the stuffing. Even if you add the eggs though, you will be fine, just as long as you put it in the fridge until you are ready to cook it!!

Mixing the dry ingredients ahead of time is fine, but I would wait and mix the wet ingredients when the directions suggest, especially eggs or dairy products, if any.

Are you referring to dressing for stuffing?
If so , I would only prepare the dry ingredients in advance.
The onions , celery, mango's and broth I would wait until I'm ready to cook it.
