It depends on the person. If you feel uncomfortable and bloated, you may be constipated and getting more fiber in your diet may help.
For most people, once a day is the norm. Some more, some less. The best thing is to think back to the last time you felt "normal" and try to remember how often you went then. If you're going less now, then add fiber - in the form of fresh fruits, raw vegetables and whole grains - to your diet.
Actually, that would be good for anyone, whether they're constipated or not!

I've listened to alot of natural health practioners and read a few books on this subject. You should go poo pretty much after every meal. When I take my fiber intestinal tone powder I will go just about after every meal. I think that if you will take fiber regularly you will find that when you do go poo you will feel more satisfied and finished. But be sure to drink plenty of water and that you are having regular BM's before you take fiber. You don't want to get even more constipated. Life force international has some very good products. The human body needs fiber, a major nutrient that is often is lacking in the diet. Highly refined foods, including sugar and white flour, have little or no fiber left in them. Over consumption of these food types makes us susceptible to various intestinal problems.

According to Chinese medicine, you should poo 4-6 times a day. I myself poo at least 4 times a day. But it all depends on who you are(body structure) and diet. If you are concerned that your not getting enough fiber there are many ways to sneak fiber into your diet. Such as bran muffins, eating more roughage(veggies), cereal with bran, or taking a fiber supplement like Solufiber. Solufiber can be mixed in with drinks and such so you can't taste it. I have been told by my doc that it should be once a day, although it depends on your body, you may go twice a day. However, you should never go more than 2 days without going. If you are going that long, you are constipated and you should probably be getting more fiber. Also, drinking a lot of water helps with constipation also, so if you increase the amount of water you drink, this may also help.

Hi Wendy, It depends on the person.Weight,bulit and height and how much you eat. I would say, on an average you should poo once a day. If you are having problems pooing go see your doctor. That can turn into something serious.

Some ppl poo once per 2 days which is not too bad.
Any thing less or more than these are considered to be unusual.
