Angel - Yes I heard that too, but when I looked it up the 16th amendment specifically says, "Congress has the right to collect taxes on income"

We modified the US Constitution as allowed by the Constitution when the States of the United States ratified the 16th Amendment.

U.S. Constitution: Sixteenth Amendment
Sixteenth Amendment - Income Tax

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Don't pay taxes, get fined, go to jail, and then pay more money on top of that! This BS rumor has been going around for decades (two that I know of, at least). It's BS for the uninformed and unthinking.

If you don't want to pay taxes, do what the rich do--own a business or three. That way, you can legally avoid paying taxes. Evading taxes the IRS frowns upon!

The laws that allow the collection of income taxes have never been ratified by the States. So the question of it's legality is in limbo. Is it constitutional? The courts that could clear those questions up will never hear them. Courts that can imprison you for not paying them will.

Income tax is not illegal, and nowhere in the constitution does it say we don't have to pay taxes. In the words of founding father Ben Franklin: "two things are unavoidable: death and taxes"

Look up the '861' tax code. And that too is in the Constitution. According to the Constitution.....there is suppose to be a limit on what can be taxed......but guess who doesn't follow it??
