I'm a 26 year old single dad. There aren't many people where I work. I get out as much as I can, but I am not having luck finding any girls while I'm out. I am skeptical when it comes to meeting people on the internet on Myspace and such. Are there any better places than Myspace and the dating sites? I'm not in a huge rush to get into a relationship, but I just want to put myself out there and see what happens.

Thats funny, I didn't realize I posted this question under "Food & Drink" LOL. Well, in any case I think this "area" of Answers has some of the most friendly "Answerers", so I guess it works anyway. :)

MySpace will get you maybe too many younger immature girls, a nice "grounded" girl will not have hours to spend grooming a personal web site about herself, believe it or not. My suggestion for you would be to find something you are really interested in (whether it's animals, internet games, signing petitions, etc) and join a site according to your interests, an example is Petster.com where I spend a lot of time posting info about my dog, or ThePetitionsite.com, where I do my little activism thing! In other words, the conventional "meeting sites" on the internet are like trolling for someone in a bar, you need to go somewhere that you are already interested in the cause and I promise there are decent women out there just like yourself, who are also "not in a rush" but would love to meet someone like you. If you are looking for a nice 20-something girl, you should look into attending a religious/spiritual group that suits your beliefs/habits. You'll find that you have a great deal in common with the people who attend such groups. Even if you don't immediately find a girl who suits you and responds favorable to you, you'll make a lot of new friends who will provide encouragement for you on the dusty road of life.

I agree with jessified! This is a great place to start. I met a good friend of mine on Pogo (game site) but we're both female and both married. I'm just saying it's very possible to find someone that you can become very good friends with, and hopefully in your case, that might lead to something more.

nice grounded and 23-28 seldom if ever go together. maybe try over 30 -- they start getting desperate. before that they think they need a 22 yr old millionaire that looks like justin timberlake.
