Check your ham to be sure it is not already pre-cooked, a lot of them are. Sometimes it is as simple as putting it in the oven and warming it. If it needs to be cooked, the rule of thumb is bake it for 325 degrees, 30minutes per pound, so a 4 pound ham will take approximately 2 hours to cook. Bake it in a glass casserole baking dish if you have one, uncovered, and if desired make a paste with brown sugar, cinammon, ground cloves and prepared yellow mustard and brush it over the ham during the last 1/2 hour of baking. Good luck!

On the ham wrapping it tells you how many hours per pound to cook it and at what temperature. I usually cover mine until the last half hour and then i uncover it and let it get a little brown. You can also put some ham glaze on it, that can be bought in the grocery store or you can make your own. Ham is pretty easy and as long as you follow the directions you'll be fine.

Most hams are pre cooked. All you have to do is put it in a roaster pan and add a little water tot he bottom ( about a cup) and put a lid or some aluminim foil on it to keep it from drying out.
I sometimes sprinkle it with honey or brown sugar on the top. Occasionally scoop up the water and pour it over the top to keep it moist.
Most hams have heating directions printed right on the package.......it wil tell you what temp and for how long each pound.

Here's a recipe you can try...
"Ham with Cherry Sauce" - 8 to 10 servings
1 fully cooked bone-in ham (6-8 lbs.)
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp. ground mustard
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 cup cold water
1 (16 oz.) can pitted dark sweet cherries; undrained
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. almond extract
Place ham in a roasting pan. Score surface of ham with shallow diagonal cuts, making diamond shapes. Combine the brown sugar, syrup and mustard; rub over ham and press into cuts. Cover and bake at 325* for 1 3/4 to 2 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 140* and ham is heated through.
For cherry sauce, in a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and water until smooth; add cherries. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice and extract. Serve with ham.
