Well, I was at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles not that long ago, and I ordered a chicken and an egg to find out which one would come first.
I'm sorry to tell you that this conundrum has not been solved - becuse they arrived at the same time!

It was the chicken egg that came first or maybe it is better to say the egg with a chicken in it came first. Whatever laid the egg wasn't quite yet a chicken though it was very close to it. Through evolutionary mutation the creature that came out of that egg was the first real chicken.

When the Rooster woke up and saw the Hen he was very happy. Then together, they laid eggs...

Exactly. When I saw your question, I was going to say that, but when I saw the details, I realized that you already had written that. Also, would it make sense for God to put a bunch of eggs instead of chickens? When they hatched, they'd have no adult chickens to care for them.

the chicken because it would be cruel on God's part to put a baby chick or a cold egg that simply wouldn't hatch on the earth.
Baby chick's follow the hen and learn to survive.
