Under the assumption that the society your referencing consist within the USA or perhaps any society within the world? What society specifically are you questioning? Could it be a society with in a society? Or society as a whole in the United States of America or any Nation? I am assuming here just society as a whole.
If the society is a secret society governed by criminals and prostitutes, then again, I thought prostitutes were criminals in most states in the USA? Criminals meaning they break the laws of a society as in this case, the USA. Then again, I could be considered a criminal by that definition if I exceed the speed limits of the roads, right? Assuming criminals like drug dealers, murderers, etc.
There is an assumption within your question that the United States of America was founded by criminals and prostitutes. Who founded this Nation? Is it a proven fact that those individuals that founded the USA were criminals and prostitutes?
Society? Society consist of many types of people thank goodness. Are all of those people criminals and prostitutes? That would most definitely have to include yourself and myself, right? Under that assumption?
Hope? There is always hope wouldnt you say in anything provided certain possitive actions are implemented. Be that as it may, there must be the question, what "Hope" would you like to see occur in the USA that you currently do not?

If everyone was a criminal/prostitute, society would become perfect. Since there are so many prostitutes, the demand would be low, and so would the price. This would cause prostitutes to be poor and seek other employment opportunities. While this happens, criminals will be only committing crimes to each other. Robbing each other will be useless, since it will be a never ending chain of material-item change. Thus, they would also reform their ways. In time, this would become a perfect society.

Wasn't that how Australia was started and now it is a great country. Give people a chance and they can change.
the only people promise eternal life in the bible was a prostitute and a criminal. The criminal on the stake next to Jesus and Mary magdalene a former prostitute.

The biggest reason for hope is that no one turns out exactly like their predecessors...you know the last thing you wanted is to be like your parents, right? So, basically each generation questions the decisions of the last, which leads to a tumultuous degree of change, which in turn means that things are never stagnant and YES there is definitely hope, for as long as change exists in even the most obscene society there will be be hope for future generations.

There's always hope. Even criminals and prostitutes must come to the conclusion that anarchy is in no one's best interest.

Any society can change. Anyone can go to school, get an education, and get a job, but not for free. They probably aren't bad people as much as mislead, and may not have had the attention or funding when they were younger.

The possibility doesn't exist for a founding let alone a perpetuity. Corruption continues to devolve. Not construct.
