Soda is sugary, and too much sugar can leave you dehydrated, which is one of the usual causes of a hangover. The excess sugar also can lead to "sugar shock", where your body over-produces insulin, giving you 'low blood sugar' later, which could feel like a hangover.

The liquid or acidity of soda could also give you stomach or digestion issues, or make you feel sick.

I don't know about 'hung-over' but I do know that I was addicted to Coke and/or Pepsi a few years back. I couldn't function without the caffeine. Perhaps you got a caffeine over dose??
