I'm sorry but some of the previous answers are incorrect! Kids don't always or normally get shots in the arm. They usually receive them in their upper leg. That muscle is bigger and used more by the children. My 22 month old boys just received their flu shots in their upper thighs at the doctors office. The only time I ever witnessed the arm being used on a child was when I took my boys to the health department. I was assured by my family doctor that it would be ok, although its not the preferred site on children. I assume its due to convenience, just like the health department wanted to give my boys 6 shots at once! All in all, I wouldn't be too concerned, but try to go to your doctor's office for these things where you have relationship and trust.

I have four children and all of them got their shots in the arm. the only time that they put in the leg or hip is if the arms are to small. Like under weight kids.
