It seems that some people from all different faiths feel that if they belong to that faith (even loosely) it gives them the right to jump on a soapbox and tell the world that what they believe is the only way to go and if you don't believe it you'll go to an undesirable place.
I understand and appreciate what you're saying and you're free to believe as you wish. It's the "others" that try to force their beliefs on you that drive most people crazy. We're free to believe what we'd like to too. You're right, you can't save anyone's soul.....wish other people would get that and worry about their own souls.

I agree that if someone is telling someone about Christ the main point that they're trying to make is that God loves them so much that Jesus would suffer so much and die so that we wouldn't have to. Of course the main point that you are trying to prove is love but if the question "Do I even need God" comes up you'll have to be blunt with it. No one here can say they've never done something wrong with out lying to themselves. And by doing this we separate our selves further and further from God. Hell is a real place and no one would want to go there but you should press that you would rather go to hell before God stopped loving you. That's how deep the relationship between God and those who believe in him is.

Well now, let's try your opinion on a Biblical passage, two versions, one I'm unsure of the source
The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given."
(Luke 12:47-48)
Admittedly the KJV version is somewhat differnt, Not sure if the above is a summation or from a more modern source
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself , neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes .
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes . For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Now, to me that means YOU are the Servant. You serve God and Jesus and YOU are supposed to know better and DO the bidding of your Master, Jesus, and spread the word.
Your friends know not, hence THEY will get a lesser beating than you from God
Sounds like you are a Politically Correct Christian
Hope God doesn't take offense to your NOT spreading the word.
And, by the way, why did Jesus turn over tables in the Temple and chase the people lending money and having rooseter fights out!
I thought Jesus was a man of peace!
Why did Jesus tell his discipled to sell all they own and buy a sword.
Dont' those who live by a sword die by the sword?
What happened to turn the other cheek.
Finally
1Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
You're not even supposed to share a cup of coffee with anyone who fornicates according to Paul.
Remember there is a book of life and God sees all knows all and decides who goes into that book of life and who doesn't

Two of the things they taught me at a catholic school is "Thou should not judge!" and "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I must admit they spent as much time scaring the living daylights out of us with all that Devil crap too and telling us all the things we shouldn't be doing but to me so long as you are kind and thoughtful to your fellow human beings, and I mean the good, the bad and the ugly no matter what race, color, creed or sexual preference, then you are on the right track to being a good person.

We are to share God's love true, but you also need to point out where they will end up if they aren't saved. I don't walk up to someone and tell them their going to Hell. I share Jesus Christ with them. I do tell them all I can about Heaven and Hell, because it is very important.

The answer is always to love.
The messages at my church recently turned to focus solely on love. When anything is done out of love-- be it a reprimand or a caress... is always according to God's will. If you are truly doing something in love-- like Apostle Paul said, "to place your brother above yourself," then this is the "most excellent way." Christians whose focuses are not on Love-- God's love so that we can love others-- are deviating dangerously. You are right to notice this-- Thank you. Please bring this up within your spiritual community. I will pray for you. Happy Thanksgiving soon!

You are right. we as Christians should not show hate. We are to show Gods love always. I myself do not hate anyone. God says to hate the sin but love the sinner. We are to pray for them and show them what God's love is. God Bless

Some people become religious to shame and bash others while feeling justified and self righteous about it. The majority of Christians are not like that, but the few that are have a disproportionate influence and voice their opinions more so than others.

You're a christian so tell us "Why do Christians try to preach hate rather than love?" Also, aren't you lumping all christians together and like all other groups of people, don't you think that most people are good?

I wouldn't know what it is you deem a
' Christian ' - the American definition seems to be something of a Polyanna flunky with the brains of grated cheese. No offense, that's what's been given as the criteria. If you compare one of these people to what the actual criteria is you'll find no similarity anywhere in the continental U.S.
