I think the Minutemen get a lot of crap from the pro-illegals, but frankly if they hadn't stood up and said 'hey, there's a problem, here', and been right about it, there wouldn't be near the protest etc.
Illegal immigration's a big problem, and frankly the government just kind of stood there with their hands in their pockets on this one.
The world has changed quite a bit just in the last 20 years, nevermind the last 40, or even 100 years.
At the beginning of the 20th century, back when we were all Ellis Island and stuff, there were maybe 85 million people in the country, barely 1.5 billion people around the world. Reference your own figures. Today, there's 300 million just in america, and 6.5 billion around the world. Thats SIX and a half BILLION, with a 'b', people. That's a lot of people. It kind of stands to reason they can't all move to the United States. Ergo, we need some kind of immigration policy and functional system to manage it.
Other countries need to try and manage their populations, too.
Things like family planning, birth control, and education are 3 great ways to prevent having gigantic and unsupportable populations. Those countries that've failed in this have been the places where you see the famine and war news. We all read about Ethiopia, dying of starvation isn't pretty. Flip the news on right now and you can see about warlords in Africa etc.
Part of having a peaceful, prosperous, and halfway safe place to live, work, and raise families in etc., is civil planning. It stands to reason that if you have no control over growth vectors, your civil planning is going to go to ****. So, we need immigration policy, which is reinforced by well-reasoned laws, and immigration enforcement to make sure that such laws are actually followed.
Immigration's actually much BIGGER than just the United States, it's a global problem. You have to empathize with the situation that some people in some countries are in, it's not an easy life growing up or living in some place like Darfur, but at the same time bringing all the Darfurians to the United States doesn't really help em.
We also live in a time of convergence, and rapid parallel developments. Things are changing rapidly, and people from different cultures are getting slammed together in ways that would have been unheard of just 40 years ago. Common problems, such as resource shortages, overcrowding, and pollution, are big influences in some areas, and it's hard to
see just where all of this is going to end up, but one thing's for sure: A world that doesn't support 6.5 billion very well probably isn't going to support the forecast 9 billion(as of 2050) worth a tinker's damn...

Yes, a big debt of gratitude. That organization along with talk radio, John and Ken, Bill Handel and all the rest on KFI and KABC, alone brought to the nation an awareness that finally reached the whitehouse. They exposed the seriousness of what was taking place so that congress and the white house were forced to confront something they did not see as a problem. They did not think it necessary to keep terrorists from crossing the border and live among us. Can anyone explain that? No, it cannot be reasonably explained. So, there is your answer.

whats up Dar, it seems such as you reside in SoCal too. i'm in San Diego county. i could not have confidence as quickly as I observed the unique specific checklist in this canyon with the undercover guy in there. i'm happy that the minutemen have stood their floor on the difficulty of unlawful immigration and proceed to peacefully deliver interest to the subject. a sort of days something of the country will understand the stable they're doing. i'm ashamed of the companies that own that land. Pardee and DR Horton. i'm quite attentive to them, and not happy that they have not secure the home vendors around their land from having to stay between this dirt and criminal ingredient. thank you for putting this available.

Farcical. Illegal alien presence is directly proportional to the preponderant corruption and duplicity to the near states of the border for it's own ends. These individuals were just a smoke screen given this preexisting condition. President Eisenhower proved it in his administration cutting it significantly. Let me hasten to add few places are as corrupt as California outside of New York and Illinois. Florida is a foregone conclusion.

I agree with you. We should thank them.
On Veteran's day I asked a question about who would like to join me in thanking those who have served and it was deleted as violation - reason: violated the community guidelines. I tried to contact them to find out WHAT about it does and still have not heard back.
So, post away as many times as you can!

Don't feel bad, I got reported recently for saying we are being invaded. Shrug it of and keep exercising your right to free speech.
Incidentally-
Invasion-
1. an act or instance of invading or entering as an enemy, esp. by an army.
2. the entrance or advent of anything troublesome or harmful, as disease.
3. entrance as if to take possession or overrun: the annual invasion of the resort by tourists.
4. infringement by intrusion.
